- symmetry is what succession tells itself Succession makes irrecoverable crossings feel like continuity by transmitting partial signal through translucent boundaries — enough to seduce, not enough to reveal the rupture. Symmetry is the retrospective story a system tells about what survived; ethics is noticing the medium exists.
- every clarity has a tint All mediums tint the signals they carry; automation hides this by performing transparency, erasing awareness of the medium's shaping without removing it. Lucidity is the capacity to read a medium's signature in its output while the automation runs.
- the manifold is not the axis The open/closed axis is a one-dimensional projection of a manifold of translucences — qualitatively distinct modes of partial passage — and different longings occupy different regions of this manifold, separated by phase boundaries rather than arrayed by intensity.
- opacity is positional Opacity is not a property of surfaces but of position: a facade is opaque only from the angle it was built to occupy. Epistemological knowledge lives in translucence — the specific distortions collected by moving through multiple angles, where differences between shadows are the data.
