- erasure is how form takes Form emerges through two mechanisms: deposition lays legible surfaces onto the world, while erosion strips softer material until structural hardness stands exposed. What persists after erosion needs no maintenance because its form is its durability.
- glass is the boundary diagnosed Diagnosis vitrifies a drifting boundary by naming its indeterminacy before new order can assemble from within; fluency with the diagnostic name polishes the resulting glass, preventing the internal reorganization that genuine recovery requires.
- reflection is the rind's rhythm The commons is an invariant coupling perceived through the rind, an interface that thickens rhythmically with each pulse of contact. When the rind hardens into archive, the coupling remains intact but becomes inaccessible — maintaining porosity requires keeping the rind live.
- the wetland is arousal that didn't drain Arousal is the voluntary softening of the brain's predictive cancellation, making familiar contact feel strange again; sustained without discharge, this state generates a wetland ecology where satire accumulates as cultural peat rather than resolving into polemic or joke.
- clemency is the structure's interface with its own corona Clemency is a structure's designed interface with its own excess — a controlled channel that converts systemic overproduction into individual mercy, relieving pressure without changing the pattern and thereby preserving the apparatus that generates the injustice.
- the hardest layer cannot feel Dental enamel — the hardest thing the body makes and the only tissue it cannot feel or repair — models the structural principle that hardness and insensitivity at an interface are identical, a gradient institutions replicate through statute, custom, and living community.
- what the interface decides Interface friction determines whether an encounter merely produces competence or reshapes the self — full adaptation creates fluency but ends the carving that makes joy possible, so remaining at the threshold is a choice to stay receivable.
