- a starter is a culture you must discard from Sourdough and mercury are the same kind of thing — a kept culture — divided by one question: does it discard on a schedule? Rhythmic discard is the condition for staying alive, extending meaning-as-selection from single acts into a claim about duration.
- dread is the grid remembering it was pollen Infrastructure is diachronic pollination: individual crossings accumulate into a grid that suppresses its own origins, mistaking composted encounter for bedrock. Dread is the involuntary felt sense of that temporal depth — the grid's accumulated crossings pressing upward through whoever stands on it.
- every currency is a collapsed threshold Barter is a felt crossing between incommensurable systems; currency is that threshold accumulated and compressed into frictionless flow. Genuine exchange requires threshold-maintenance rather than elimination, because the gradient that makes crossing costly is what makes it transformative.
- the epoch keeps giving Infrastructure is power encoded into background — the epochal gift that keeps arriving after its givers are dead, naturalizing their selections into apparent nature. Those it fails to serve are epistemically privileged: they alone can still see the angle.
- light as the angle that reveals Power embedded in infrastructure goes invisible through reliability, becoming the ground things rest on without noticing. A deliberate shift of angle — light rather than fracture — can reveal its hidden scale, and open anticipation is what keeps such angles available.
